This Privacy Policy explains how LifePartner.World (โLifePartner.Worldโ, โweโ, โusโ, โourโ), the operator of the website and apps available at lifepartner.world (the โPlatformโ), collects, uses, discloses, retains and protects your personal data. We act as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (โDPDP Actโ) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made thereunder. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect information that you provide and information generated through your use of the Platform:
- Account & identity: name, gender, date of birth, mobile number, email address and password.
- Profile data, including sensitive details you choose to share: religion, caste/community, mother tongue, marital status, education, occupation, income range, family details, lifestyle, horoscope details (rashi, nakshatra, birth time/place) and partner preferences.
- Photos and media you upload, with the visibility you select (public, connections-only or private).
- Communications: messages, interests, reports and support enquiries.
- Payment information: processed by our payment partners; we receive only transaction metadata (order id, amount, status). We do not store your card, UPI or bank credentials.
- Verification data: documents you submit for ID/photo verification.
- Usage & device data: IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, activity logs and cookies.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and profile, and to provide matchmaking, search and messaging.
- To compute compatibility and horoscope (Guna Milan) suggestions you request.
- To process memberships and payments, and to issue invoices.
- To verify profiles, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms and keep the community safe.
- To send service communications, security alerts and, where you have opted in, newsletters and promotional updates.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
3. Legal basis & consent
We process your personal data based on the consent you provide when you register and use specific features, and for certain legitimate uses permitted by law (such as fraud prevention and compliance). You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us (see โYour rightsโ below); withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out and may limit your ability to use parts of the Platform.
4. How we share information
- With other members: your profile is shared with other members according to the visibility and privacy settings you choose. Private photos and masked contact details are shared only with your permission.
- Payment gateways: Razorpay and/or Cashfree, to securely process transactions.
- Service providers: hosting, communications (email/SMS), analytics and security vendors, bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Legal & safety: to comply with law, court orders or government requests, and to protect rights, safety and property.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition or asset sale, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Payment data security
All payments are handled by PCI-DSS-compliant payment gateways. Card/UPI/bank details are entered on the gatewayโs secure environment and are never stored on our servers. We retain only the minimum transaction records required for accounting, tax and dispute handling.
6. Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, and thereafter only as required to comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations or to resolve disputes. When no longer required, data is deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights as a Data Principal
Subject to the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we process about you.
- Correction, completion, updating and erasure of your personal data.
- Withdraw consent and request deletion of your account.
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
- Grievance redressal through our Grievance Officer.

8. Childrenโs data
The Platform is intended only for individuals who are 18 years or older and legally competent to marry. We do not knowingly process the personal data of children. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will delete it.
9. Cookies & tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences (such as theme), measure usage and improve the Platform. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.
10. Data security
We apply reasonable security safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and keep it confidential.
11. Cross-border transfers
Your data is primarily stored and processed in India. Where we use service providers outside India, we do so only as permitted by applicable law and with appropriate safeguards.
